is being held hostage by Sammi
So like, town, she's right there claiming a PR this late in the game and only softing it. Do the right thing

Yeah, fakeclaiming a PR is probably good and sets up for a nin lynch, but sitting on it as just a soft right now looks really bad. Effectiveness shouldn't really matter with only one or two nights left. I believe in townnnn o/

Bags his own tea
To this point Sophia hasn't slipped up because she hasn't really said anything. This could be the slip

cabot

Why.
zipped always reads as scum to me, always.

He's been good in this game, though for sure this mentality of 'lets mislynch today and come back tomorrow' would drive me up the wall.

cabot

Why.
shes already talked down her power, and town have an opportunity to make a mislynch.

There's no reason for people to accept her claim being secret.

Alexem

Yeah, I'm town
I'm a little surprised at how soon votes are being put down with such a small majority - obviously with only one scum player remaining, their individual voting power is relatively low, but with a pair of votes cast with a majority of just four, it'd only take a couple of votes in quick succession to cause a mislynch. True, this might not be my/lylo yet, but I'd still have thought it'd be risky to rush into voting with so few players left.

That’s a game-winning post right there

This is true, that is a great post by Fandorin and might be enough for Town to win the game.

If Sophia wasn't Scum, Nin would probably get lynched tomorrow just for his posts today where it's all "Follow whoever makes the best case".

But Fandorins post might be enough to win for Town.

cabot

Why.
i agree that was a good fandorin post.

I also agree that nin just lazily sheeping it is annoying, despite it being a potential town winner.

Oh yeah I never asked. @Fandorin and @Brazil I'm still not 100% sure what the big yellow duck thing is about. I'm not really up on Brazilian politics aside from there is a lot of corruption.

Hahahahaha. I loved that call-out, but forgot to mention it. It was really surprising, hahaha.

It's complicated, but essentially it's the icon of a right wing movement against corruption, that strikes harshly against left-leaning politicians but is completely toothless against right-wing politicians.

"Pay the duck" is a weird expression (one I don't know the origins of) that means "Foot the bill for/deal with the consequences of the actions of a third party." In the context of the giant rubber duck, it was a way of criticizing the way the general Brazilian populace was footing the bill for widespread corruption by paying enormous and ever-increasing amounts of taxes.

But the giant rubber ducks themselves (there were many of them in protests across the country) were paid for by a completely partisan right-wing institution that wasn't really interested in fighting widespread corruption, instead focusing only on the corruption among left-leaning politicians as a way to kick them out of the way of right wing policy. Therefore, it fit perfectly with the capitalist flavor :P

That is pretty much what I worked out from reading several articles. And there was a whole thing about the Duck originally being designed by an artist and touring cities and then the factory made a copy for their stunt.

Didn't even remember half of this. What a mess.

Really entertaining spec thread! Nice to see so many dead players keeping up with the game like this haha.

Anyway, glad to take the win and maintain my perfect 3 W/0 L record.
